BIO

I was born in Borneo, Indonesia of Dutch parents. I spent the first two years in Borneo, after which the family moved to Curacao, in the Netherlands Antilles. I became obsessed with the ocean and enjoyed seeing the acres of coral that covered the ocean floors. Unfortunately those days are long gone. At the age of 17, I moved with my family to Montreal, Canada. A 35 degree below zero in winter  was not appealing to me, so I moved on. Now I was on my own and continued my travels to the Bahamas, Vancouver and Europe and eventually ended up in Bermuda. It was there where I remained for 7 years and opened my first studio. This allowed me to experiment with different mediums, techniques and styles. It didn’t take me long before realizing  that I was a born surrealist. I also realized that if I wanted to take my art career further I needed a formal art education. In 1978 I enrolled at the Ontario College of Art and design in Toronto Canada and in 1982 I received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, majoring in painting and sculpting. My paintings are part of private collections in the United States, Canada, Bermuda, St. Maarten, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy.
